2) The main task of the special-shaped flange semi-finishing stage is to eliminate the errors caused by rough machining, prepare for the finishing of the main surface, and complete the processing of some smaller surfaces (drilling, tapping, keyway milling, etc.).

3) The task of the special-shaped flange finishing stage is to remove a small amount of allowance on the workpiece to ensure that the main surface meets the quality requirements specified in the drawings.

The flat welding flange also has the function of pipe sealing. Its performance characteristics: non-rigid connection, disassembly, tension. The disadvantages are: poor rigidity, not used for damaged occasions; its shape is more likely to be bumped during transportation.
